What do MAX and MIN mean?
MAX is the maximum function and MIN is the minimum function, which is generally used in Excel. The following are the basic syntax and precautions of "MAX" and "MIN" in Excel:

1, basic syntax

Maximum value (number 1, number 2, ...)

Min (number 1, number 2, ...)

2. Precautions:

Parameters such as number 1 and number2 can be numbers, cell names, contiguous cell ranges and logical values.

For data references such as cell names and continuous cell ranges, usually only numerical values or values calculated by formulas are calculated, and logical values are not calculated.

3. Example: Find the maximum and minimum values of column A data.

Several different usages of MAX and MIN functions in excel;

Method one

1. Select the cell to edit, and then select the inverted triangle under automatic summation in the formula to open the drop-down menu and select the maximum value (minimum value).

2. After selection, the system will automatically select the area. If it is not the desired data range, you can drag the upper two corners of the virtual square. At this time, the mouse pointer will turn into a double arrow, and you can drag it.

3. Select the range and press Enter.

Method 2

1. Select the cell to edit, and then select two (two equivalent) options as shown.

2. Pop up the formula option box, find MAX(MIN) in the formula and confirm.

3. The following dialog box pops up. Select the data range after the number 1 and confirm.

Method 3

1. Select the cell to edit, enter =MAX(D3:D 15) in two places (two places are equivalent), and press enter.

2, or, enter =max (), then click in the brackets and select the area with the mouse, the effect is the same.
