Today's science has entered the era of gravitational waves and quantum mechanics. Why is there a "folk science" theory?
"Folk scientists" are contemporary anti-intellectual knights.

So, is Mr. Guo with junior high school education really a hero who predicts "gravitational waves"? Of course it's impossible. Einstein predicted it a hundred years ago and made a detailed calculation. It is not a "prophecy" to shout loudly after a hundred years. What's more, Mr. Guo just picked up a few scientific terms from popular science books and dreamed of building his own exclusive popular science building. He doesn't know what scientific research is about, and he refuses to know what science is about.

Teacher Guo claimed that his original "acceleration system+gravitational wave+matter wave" obviously came from the popular science works he had seen. For example, "matter wave" was put forward by physicist De Broglie in his doctoral thesis of 1923, which is a basic concept of quantum mechanics, and "gravitational wave" was a prediction of Einstein's general theory of relativity a hundred years ago. As for the "acceleration system", it only means that this reference system is accelerating, such as a rising rocket or a descending spacecraft. These nouns all come from his popular science articles. He has read them for a long time and likes them so much that he thinks they are original. This is also a common psychological phenomenon of self-deception.

This kind of person who has a deep "scientific complex" but lacks a basic understanding of real scientific research and builds his own theoretical system alone is generally called a "folk scientist". Of course, this is not a strict term. Branding "folks" means that they think that everything the "official" does is wrong, and only they really love science. Even from Galileo and Newton, modern science has developed for 400 years, and more and more branches have been established before we have a basic understanding of the world. The group of "folk scientists" completely ignored the achievements of scientists in the past 400 years and tried to overthrow the "official" scientists by themselves, which was tantamount to Don Quixote riding a donkey with a spear trying to overthrow the evil "windmill giant".

"Folk scientists" prefer the universe and physics.

These scientists have very ambitious goals. Mr. Guo, for example, thinks that he has achieved "new theories and discoveries capable of winning the Nobel Prize", but the tools they use are ridiculous. They can write a few simple formulas, and even use these thought fossils of Yin-Yang, Five Elements and Eight Diagrams of Zhouyi to solve the frontier problems of modern science. They devoted themselves to overthrowing Einstein and Newton, defeating Hawking and winning the Nobel Prize.

Folk scientists also have a strong patriotic complex, or an "oriental complex". They often think that others criticize them for being unpatriotic, hindering scientific progress and worshipping foreign things. As guest Sun Hao commented, "If you don't understand, give him some light." Therefore, many works of "folk scientists" are published through formal publishing channels, and most libraries can see their traces, especially in the fields of astronomy and physics. For example, a cartoonist in Taiwan Province Province who tried to talk about China's ancient wisdom wrote a thick Tetralogy of the Oriental Universe after ten years of seclusion, and solved all the astronomical and cosmological problems through the ages with "Oriental Philosophy", and even published it in a well-known publishing house. In fact, the author thinks that natural science is as regional as humanities, and the nationalist complex blinds the thinking ability.

Why do "folk scientists" love astronomy and physics? It is not difficult to understand that the world is everyone's innate curiosity, so the popular science works in these two fields are also the most and the best. "Folk scientists" can't see or find scientific monographs, and it's not difficult to read popular science works. In terms of the history of scientific development, this is also the first field of scientific development, and it is the knowledge that we all need to learn in middle schools (we all have a certain scientific foundation). Hawking, Einstein, Theory of Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Black Hole and Universe are the hot spots of popular science and the favorites of "folk science".

Complex disciplines, such as biology, environmental science and other fields, have relatively few "civil subjects". Because these fields are difficult to get started, especially modern research can only be entered on the basis of modern physics, chemistry and mathematics. Folk Science lacks basic knowledge, so it is not very interested.
