Decimal point, a mathematical symbol written as ".",is used to separate the integer part from the decimal part in decimal system. Although the decimal point is small, it plays a great role. We can't ignore this little symbol at any time. When reading decimals: (1) Distinguish the pronunciation of integer and decimal parts. The integer part should also be read according to the integer reading method. Read "zero" if the integer part is 0. The decimal part usually reads the numbers on each digit in sequence. For example, 84.23 should be read as 84.23, not 84.23. (2) Pay attention to the pronunciation of the decimal part "0". When reading integers, there is a zero in the middle of a number or several zeros in succession, and only one zero is read (but the zero at the end of each stage is not read). When reading decimals, if there are several zeros in the decimal part, you should read several zeros. For example, 1.00045 should be read as 1.00045 instead of 1.045 as an integer.
When writing decimals: (1) read and write together, and refer to each other. The integer part is written as an integer (when the integer part is zero, it is written as "0"), and the decimal part writes the numbers on each digit in turn according to the reading method. For example: 0.42, write 0.42, and write a few zeros in the middle.
(2) Pay attention to the writing of decimal points. Decimals should be written as dots, not as ","or ",". The position of the decimal point should be written in the lower right corner of the integer digits, not in the middle of the number.
