Located in Changsha, a famous national historical and cultural city, it is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the Hunan Provincial Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. Hunan Mechanical and Electrical Senior Technical School is a senior technical school approved by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
The school was founded on 1975.
Its predecessor was hunan mechanical and electrical School, a national key technical secondary school. In 2002, it was upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college, which belongs to the training base of numerical control technology skilled talents in Hunan Province. In 2004, it was established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and other ministries as a training base for skilled talents in manufacturing and service industries. According to the official website in April 2023, the school now has 9 secondary colleges (teaching departments) and 36 full-time colleges.
Brief introduction of college
The main campus of the college is located in Changsha, with Xingsha Pearl in the left, Window of the World in the right, Changsha National Economic and Technological Development Zone in the east and Changsha High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the west. It covers an area of 728 mu, with a building area of more than 330,000 square meters. There are 9,578 full-time students and 645 faculty members in higher vocational colleges.
Among them, there are 135 teachers with senior titles, 247 full-time teachers with "double qualifications", experts enjoying special government allowance of the State Council 1 person, 6 members of the National Machinery Vocational Education Construction Steering Committee, 3 members of the Hunan Vocational Skills Appraisal Expert Committee and 3 provincial professional leaders.
