Xinjiang Normal University is a key normal college in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It was established on 1978 and 12 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was Urumqi No.1 Normal School and Xinjiang Normal College. The teaching area of the school covers an area of 2,435 mu and is divided into three campuses: Wenquan, Kunlun and Wenguang, which are located at Guan Jing Road 100 in Shuimogou District, Xinyi Road 102 in Shayibak District and Kashi East Road 16 in Xincheng District.

The school authorized the master unit 1993 and the doctor unit 20 13. At present, there are six first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 1 education doctoral degree authorization points, 19 first-level discipline master degree authorization points,1/professional master degree authorization points, and 62 undergraduate majors.
