Zhejiang Art School was founded in 1955, formerly affiliated middle school of zhejiang vocational academy of art, and is a public comprehensive secondary art school featuring stage performances. In 2002, with the approval of the provincial government, zhejiang vocational academy of art was established. Zhejiang Art School was retained as a secondary school affiliated to the College and moved to the provincial higher education park in Binjiang District with the College.

With the motto of "seeking truth and respecting beauty, practicing fine arts", the school adheres to the school-running characteristics of "integration of teaching and practice, innovation and research, and integration of teaching and art specialty", and has formed the talent training characteristics of "creating advantages through comprehensive practice, enriching connotation through three integrations, and promoting high-quality and high-skilled artistic talents for the construction of a cultural province".

The majors of Zhejiang Art School are Opera Academy, Drama Department, Music Department, Dance Department, Fine Arts Department, Film and Television Technology Department, Culture Management Department, Zhejiang Art School (middle school attached to the College), Basic Education Department (Sports Department), Social Science Department, Teaching Practice Department and Continuing Education College.

Among them, drama performance is the first batch of national cultural heritage and innovation demonstration majors in vocational colleges across the country, drama performance, drama and film performance, music performance, dance performance and film and television multimedia technology are the national backbone majors, and audio-visual engineering technology and cultural relics restoration and protection are the key construction majors supported by the central government.
