Brief introduction of the School of Acupuncture and Massage of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The College of Acupuncture and Massage of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was formally established on 1998. On 1960, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine took the lead in setting up acupuncture specialty in Chinese medicine colleges. 1974 set up acupuncture and massage traumatology specialty; 1978, set up acupuncture and massage department; 1982 implemented the independent enrollment of acupuncture and massage for the first time in China, and established acupuncture and massage departments; 1998 formally established the acupuncture and massage society.

As the earliest undergraduate and postgraduate education bases in China, state administration of traditional chinese medicine and Shanghai Education Commission's key discipline colleges adhere to the school-running mode of "high-level, educational research-oriented and export-oriented", constantly adapt to social needs, gradually expand the scale of undergraduate and postgraduate education, and cultivate a batch of senior Chinese medicine talents for the society. The majors and directions offered are: five-year acupuncture and massage major, five-year acupuncture and massage (rehabilitation direction), five-year Chinese medicine (orthopedics direction) and seven-year Chinese medicine acupuncture and massage English class (jointly organized with the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiaotong University).
