School of Architecture and Engineering of Southwest Petroleum University is a secondary college developed on the basis of crude oil architecture and engineering department (1993.1~ 2000.3) and the original architecture and engineering department (2000.4~2002.6). The predecessor of the College is department of mechanical engineering, majoring in "Industrial and Civil Architecture" in the Department of Petroleum Engineering. By 2008, the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture has celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The College of Civil Engineering and Architecture has four undergraduate majors and professional teaching and research sections: civil engineering, building environment and equipment engineering, surveying and mapping engineering and engineering management. There are "Building Engineering Comprehensive Laboratory", "Building Engineering Quality Testing Center", "Engineering Research Institute of Engineering Structure and System Quality Reliability" and "Sichuan Civil Engineering Talent Training Base".
Our college has five master's authorization points: structural engineering, heating, gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning engineering, disaster prevention and mitigation engineering and protection engineering, geotechnical engineering and engineering management. In 2008, "Structural Engineering" was awarded as a key discipline in Sichuan Province.
There are 6 professors (1 doctoral supervisor) and 2 associate professors (12) in our college, and the proportion of teachers with postgraduate education exceeds 75%. There are more than 20 national building structural engineers, builders, supervision engineers, cost engineers, registered consultants at the provincial professor level, senior registered consultants and provincial bid evaluation experts among the teachers.
Over the past five years, our institute has undertaken more than 80 scientific research projects, with a total funding of160,000 yuan. He has published more than 400 papers, monographs and textbooks 17, and won 20 prizes for natural science, scientific and technological progress and outstanding works at or above the provincial level.
Do practical things, assess the situation, combine with Industry-University-Research, make full use of education and social resources to run schools, and do a solid job in curriculum construction, specialty construction, discipline construction, teaching style and study style construction, personnel training and employment guidance. With the wisdom of 22 part-time professors such as Wang Guangyuan, academician of China Academy of Engineering, Huang Zejun, general manager of professor-level senior engineer of West-East Gas Pipeline Company, and Zhang Jianguo, director of Sichuan Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and the strength of 15 military and local units such as Chengdu Military Region Surveying and Mapping Brigade, Sichuan Boneng Gas Co., Ltd., Hua Gang Gas Investment Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Xindu Construction Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd., the scientific research and practical teaching links have been enriched and the healthy development of the college has been promoted in an all-round way.
There are more than 600 undergraduate students 1600 and 67 graduate students in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. In the past five years, the employment rate of graduates has reached over 96%.
