Shandong Luneng Taishan Football School was established in July, 1999. It is located in Weifang City, Shandong Province, the famous kite capital of the world, with beautiful environment and convenient transportation. Adjacent to Weifang Airport and Jiqing-Weilai Expressway, it belongs to Luneng Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd. and is the reserve talent training base of Shandong Luneng Taishan Football Club. With Shandong Luneng Table Tennis School, the management mode of "two brands, one team" has been implemented, realizing complementary advantages and resource sharing.

Since its establishment, under the correct leadership of Shandong Electric Power Group Corporation and Luneng Sports Culture Development Company, the school has continuously improved and promoted the concept of talent training, established the school-running purpose of "scientific management, standardized operation, market-oriented operation, cultural and sports progress, international integration and training high-quality new talents", established the educational concept of "being a star first" and put forward the goal of building a "world famous football school".

At present, the school has more than 600 students from 26 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and 9 ethnic groups, and has received 30 Korean football students. The school covers an area of more than 500 mu with a building area of 74,000 square meters. All kinds of teaching, training and living facilities are complete, with 24 football fields. The teaching building is 6000m2 (including 30 classrooms), the library has more than 70,000 books, and various teaching and experimental facilities such as campus network, audio-visual education system, multimedia language lab, microcomputer room, Chinese language lab and human anatomy lab have reached the national first-class standards. The reception area has complete supporting facilities, with a reception apartment of 7,800 ㎡, and the ability to undertake professional team training, youth competitions and coach training courses for 800 people.

The school hired well-known coaches from the former Yugoslavia, including Kokovic, Frando and Zoran, as the football coach, especially Kicevic as the physical fitness coach. And hired high-quality coaches from China to teach. In terms of cultural teachers, the standards for primary and secondary school teachers stipulated by the Ministry of Education are strictly implemented, and 43% have intermediate or above titles. According to the teaching plan and syllabus promulgated by the Ministry of Education, nine-year compulsory education was successfully completed. Actively carry out joint education, jointly run a five-year college with Shandong Institute of Physical Education, and enroll students nationwide from 2006.
