Guilin University is an independent full-time private university with undergraduate level. He is the executive director of China Independent College Cooperation Association, a member of Guangxi "Universities of Applied Sciences (College) Alliance" and a member of applied curriculum construction alliance.

The predecessor of the school is Lijiang College of Guangxi Normal University, which was founded in May of 200 1 year. In May of 20021year, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Lijiang College of Guangxi Normal University was transformed into Guilin College.
