Chongqing Private Entrepreneurs Association was established with the strong support of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, United Front Work Department of Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce) and approved by the Civil Affairs Bureau. Its predecessor was Chongqing Private Entrepreneurs Association, which was founded in 1988. The purpose of the association is to "unite all kinds of private enterprises in our city to cope with the international market competition, coordinate the relationship between the government and the private sector, improve the quality of entrepreneurs, train the ranks of private entrepreneurs, shape the overall image of private entrepreneurs, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of private enterprises, act as spokespersons for private enterprises, create their' homes', give full play to their rich advantages in industrial and commercial associations and overseas United front resources, pool unique international and domestic resources, and devote themselves to promoting private enterprises' trade, science and technology education, culture and sports at home and abroad. It will become a bridge and link between private enterprises and the government, private enterprises and international cooperation, and promote Chongqing's economic development and progress.
