Stephen Gilligan (or translated from Dr. Stephen Gilligan), an American, 1974- 1977 studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr gilligan was a member of the founding research group when NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) emerged. During this period, Milton Erickson, a hypnotist, and Gregory Bateson, a master of communication, also became lifelong mentors of Dr. gilligan, with far-reaching influence.

Anyone who has been exposed to hypnosis knows the magic and effectiveness of Eriksson's hypnosis. Therefore, after receiving a Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University, Dr. gilligan became the chief lecturer and executor of Eriksson's hypnosis, actively researched and developed the related work of psychotherapy and self-development, and served as the main leader of Eriksson Foundation to promote the work of physical and mental care. One of his works, Treating Absence: The Cooperative Principle in Erickson's Psychology, is regarded as a classic in this field. Other works include: Milton Erickson's legacy, therapeutic dialogue, courage of love, principles and practice of self-relationship psychology, and brief therapy. For more than 20 years, Dr. gilligan has developed a brand-new basic awakening method in the field of hypnosis with his skillful hypnosis skills, profound experience as a therapist and lecturer, and rich personal exploration, combined with Eriksson's psychotherapy, Aikido, Buddhism, meditation and performing arts. It is a combination of Chinese and western wisdom to make hypnotherapy wider, deeper and ubiquitous.

Professor Stephen Gilligan's treatment is the art of Tao. The way of Tao is not aggressive, and it will not force patients to become healthy. It only gently persuades and guides the patient's subconscious recovery, but the therapist must be stable and mobile in his inner center. His presence and love will help improve the patient's energy and help the patient get in touch with his inner self. It has always been there, but the patient has lost contact with his inner self.

Dr. Stephen Gilligan's most famous self-related psychosomatic therapy, which reunites the body and mind, encourages and supports the internal fundamental changes, and the more profound treatment and self-change methods, with its unique guiding mode, have greatly helped and inspired many groups and individuals all over the world. Many of his students are world-famous psychologists, therapists and trainers.
