Jiangsu University, located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university jointly founded by the people of China, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It has been selected into the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" universities of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of national key discipline characteristic engineering universities, the first batch of national graduate employment typical experience universities, and the national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience universities.

Scientific research platform

As of April 20 16, the school has three national-level scientific and technological innovation platforms: National Water Pump and System Engineering Technology Research Center, National Local Joint Engineering Center for Hybrid Electric Vehicles and National New Rural Development Research Institute. There is a national intellectual property training (Jiangsu) base. The collaborative innovation center of modern agricultural equipment and technology led by the school was recognized as the first collaborative innovation center of colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province.
