Each question 1-2, ***34-36. The listening part takes about 40 minutes. 2-3 minutes for each conversation and 4-6 minutes for each speech. Questions 3 and 4 are based on the reading and listening materials in the exam and require candidates to answer related questions. Usually, one topic is a situational topic and the other is an academic topic. The reading material only contains a natural paragraph. The listening material may be a conversation or a speech, and the length is about 1 minute and a half. Candidates can take notes while listening to the tape to help answer questions. Candidates have 30 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to answer questions.

Questions 5 and 6 are based on the listening materials in the exam and require candidates to answer related questions. Candidates can take notes while listening to the tape to help answer questions. Candidates have 30 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to answer questions.

The score of each answer is 0-4, and the score range is 0-25. Questions that examine comprehensive language skills are graded based on the quality, completeness and accuracy of the answers.

● Reading

This part includes three articles, each with 650 to 750 words, corresponding to 1 1 to 13. Topic types include: chart topic, chapter summary topic (choose a sentence that can summarize the content of the article from the given options), changing wording, vocabulary topic (in a certain context), referential relationship topic, simple sentence topic, inserted text topic, factual information topic, reasoning topic, rhetorical purpose topic, negative exclusion topic (for example, the following items are all correct except …).

Except for chapter application questions, the score of each question is 1, and the score of each question of application questions may be 2, 3 and 4.

The reading section takes about 60 minutes. Please note that each candidate will be assigned a pre-test question, which may be a reading question or a listening question. However, it is impossible to determine the specific form of the examination questions in advance. Candidates will get extra time to complete the exam questions.

The total score of the reading section is 42-45, and the score range is 0-25.

● Independent composition writing and listening writing

Independent writing takes 30 minutes, which is similar to TOEFL writing or TOEFL writing test (TWE). Candidates are required to state, explain and support a certain point of view on a certain question according to their own knowledge and experience. Usually an effective answer should be a composition of about 300 words.

For writing questions based on reading or listening materials, candidates need to read an academic speech for 5 minutes first. Then the article disappeared. At this point, candidates need to listen to a speech of about 1 minute and a half. But when writing a composition, candidates can see hidden reading materials when they put listening materials.

Candidates can take notes while listening to the tape to help answer questions. Candidates have 15 minutes to summarize the main points in the listening material and explain how these points differ from the requirements in the reading material. Usually, the effective answer should be a composition of 150-225 words. The score of each writing task is 0-4, and the score range is 0-25. The grading basis of composition questions to examine language comprehensive ability is the quality, completeness and accuracy of answers.

Examination questions

The exam is divided into four parts: listening (40 minutes), reading (60 minutes), writing (60 minutes) and speaking (1 1- 15 minutes), and each part has its own characteristics.

The number of multiple choice questions in listening and reading is very small.

In the listening section, candidates are required to briefly answer questions such as which, what, why and who according to the recorded content. Candidates should not only listen and read, but also write.

The reading part consists of three to four articles, about 40 questions, most of which are not traditional multiple-choice questions, and almost do not contain grammar and vocabulary questions. The key point is to test the ability of candidates and avoid the phenomenon of "high score and low energy" in the back words and grammar problems in the exam.

Writing is divided into two parts: TASK 1 and TASK2.

TASK 1 Generally, students are required to write a short essay of not less than 150 words, describing a given chart (flow chart, section chart, curve chart) or table, or write a report according to the content of the short essay.

Task 2 generally requires candidates to propose a solution to a problem, or to defend a point of view, or to evaluate and refute some arguments, and so on. The listening part of the IELTS test is about 15 minutes. The examiner will divide the whole exam into four stages: first, general dialogue; Second, the extension of the topic; Third, ask questions with cue cards; Fourth, talk about future plans. The oral test not only tests students' ability to answer and describe, but also tests whether students can ask, demand and attach great importance to candidates' language communication ability with appropriate tone and vocabulary.
