The aim is to explore a sustainable agricultural production model suitable for rural areas and alleviate food safety and environmental damage caused by excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural production.
D, the research and promotion of ecological architecture
Due to the extensive participation of farmers and student volunteers, overseas Chinese have made progress in carrying out ecological building experiments, including building dry ecological toilets with feces and urine separated, ecological farmhouses and classrooms mainly made of local recyclable building materials, and carrying out low-cost rural ecological building training to save building materials and energy.
E. research and publications related to rural construction
An independent data center has been established, and some information about the history of rural construction, the experimental area of rural reform in the 1980s and the construction of contemporary Xinxiang villages has been collected. The center has attracted all kinds of rural development researchers and research institutions at home and abroad, especially in third world countries, to carry out relevant cooperative research.
The second project: to carry out civilian education in industrial areas with the construction of workers' community colleges as the main content.
Since 2007, the pilot project of "Home for Chinese Workers" has been carried out in Xiamen, Fujian Province. By providing low-cost and high-quality education and cultural services to workers, it aims to improve the educational environment in workers' communities, promote equal educational opportunities and improve the well-being of workers.
3. Project 2: Training and organizing college students to participate in the construction of Xinxiang village.
Initiate the "College Students' New Rural Action" and promote it throughout the country. In the five years after the project started, more than 65,438+050 college students were attracted to participate in this activity, and more than 65,438+000 school participants set up their own rural development associations. During the winter and summer vacations, "May Day" and "Eleventh Day", many organizations went to the countryside to support agriculture, support education and help the poor, set up community training, set up information stations, and established farmers' cooperative cultural organizations. Many organizations have established one-on-one mutual assistance relations with the village. These activities have also greatly changed the mental outlook of students from poor families and improved their competitiveness in the talent market.
In recent years, dozens of college students and graduate students have been organized to carry out the training plan of outstanding talents in rural areas with the main content of "taking a year off from school to support rural agriculture". After this test, young students may become the real pillars of society, and this action is even called by scholars as the beginning of "the sixth rural movement of China intellectuals".
4. The third project: opening up the experimental base of Xinxiang village construction.
In order to improve farmers' organization, a pilot project of Xinxiang village construction was established in more than 50 villages in China 14 provinces. The development idea of these experimental sites is based on the principle of "self-reliance" of farmers, and various voluntary cooperative organizations of farmers are widely established, or farmers' own literary teams, associations of the elderly, women's associations, breeding professional associations, community cooperatives, etc. In some places, rural mutual aid finance, adult schools, science and technology service associations and community newspapers have also been developed. It has greatly changed the mental outlook of farmers and laid the foundation for the sustainable development of rural economy and society.
