When I got out of the taxi, a breeze brushed my face, and what I saw was the magnificent Gansu Provincial Museum. The light brown marble walls give people a strong cultural atmosphere. A closer look reveals that the shiny marble monument is engraved with the words "Gansu Provincial Museum".
After taking a photo in front of the building, I walked into the hall with great excitement.
The hall is spacious and has a wide view, but it doesn't feel monotonous, giving people a feeling of simplicity and elegance. I went to the second floor and entered the first exhibition hall. The exhibits on display were all about the Silk Road. Here, the military and culture are divided into two exhibition areas.
In the military exhibition area, I saw ancient crossbows and arrows. They are still "as brave as ever". These antiques have a history of more than 2,000 years. Among them, my favorite is Suiyang Construction unearthed from Quhou Palace in Ejina Banner, Inner Mongolia.
Then I entered the corner to introduce the Silk Road and history. I am most interested in ancient musical instruments. Among them, guqin and vertical basket are the most representative. Guqin, also known as Luqi, Stone and lyre, is pure in timbre and mostly used in music. However, due to its special and complicated fingering, fewer and fewer musicians can play Guqin fluently now. Harp is not a traditional musical instrument in China, but spread from distant Mesopotamia to China through the Silk Road. It can be seen that the Silk Road has had such a great influence on our history and culture.
When my thoughts were still stuck in the mysterious silk road flower language, I walked into the paleontological fossil exhibition hall unconsciously. Here, I learned that paleontological fossils always have five very important stages, namely Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Here, I witnessed the heroic attitude of dinosaurs and some stories told by fossils long ago. What surprised me most was the ancient elephant fossils of the Yellow River unearthed in Qingyang, Gansu. Although it has become a ruin, even now, I can hear the roar of 4.6 billion years that night.
Then, we visited the painted pottery and marine fossil exhibition hall. All kinds of fossils and crocodiles dazzled me.
We left the museum near noon. This trip to Gansu Provincial Museum made me learn a lot, and also made me love my colorful and beautiful motherland more!
