Chenlou Town belongs to the subtropical humid climate zone in the south temperate zone. The overall climate is mild and humid, with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, abundant sunshine and obvious monsoon. The annual average temperature is about 13.8℃, the annual precipitation is 900 mm, and the frost-free period is 204 days. Natural disasters such as hail, rainstorm and typhoon often occur in summer. Chenlou Town belongs to the second uplift area of Neocathaysia in northern Jiangsu, which is located on the south edge of Luji fault block and the west side of Tanlu fault zone. The soil is mostly yellow sandy soil and loam, and the southwest is sandy black clay. Chenlou Town has been affected by major earthquakes many times in history. Chenlou Town belongs to the Yi River alluvial plain, with flat terrain, high in the northeast and low in the southwest, with an altitude of 23.2-28.7. Chenlou Town belongs to the west side of yi river and He Sui river basins, and originated from the west side of Yimeng Mountain. The length of the river bank line in the town is 6.7 kilometers. There are Yihe River, Hegang River, five big ditches, four middle ditches and three large drainage stations in the town, two of which are located on the banks of Guanhu Lake. During the flood season, the water level in the inland river can be adjusted through Huayi Gate.
