Hulusi, also known as "Huluxiao", is a musical instrument of Yunnan ethnic minorities. Hulusi originated in lianghe county, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, and is mainly popular in Dehong, Lincang and other areas where Dai, Achang, Wa, De 'ang and Bulang nationalities live together, with strong local color. It is often used to play folk songs, agricultural songs and other folk tunes.

Gourd silk is divided into three types: high, medium and low. Its unique and simple timbre, simple and exquisite appearance, simple and easy to learn are loved by many music lovers.

Cucurbit silk has a unique shape and structure. It is made of a complete natural gourd, three bamboo tubes and three metal reeds. The whole gourd is used as an air chamber, and three bamboo tubes with different thicknesses are inserted at the bottom of the gourd. Each bamboo tube inserted in the gourd is inlaid with a copper or silver reed. The bamboo tube in the middle is the thickest, and there are several sound holes on it, which is called the supervisor. Attached pipes are arranged on both sides, only reeds are arranged on them, and there is no sound hole (referring to traditional cucurbit silk), which can only produce harmony with the main pipe. Usually, the left tube sends a "3" and the right tube does not send it (or sends a "6").
