Four misunderstandings in preschool education
Infant education is now the most interesting topic for parents. Most parents think that early education is to make children outstanding. It is precisely because of this "utilitarian" thought that there are many problems in early education. Some experts from the Expert Committee of the All-China Women's Federation's "China Baby Care Project" conducted a survey on the current situation of early education in China, and the experts "consulted" four major misunderstandings in early education.

Myth 1: treat the baby as a patient

Today's children are very "delicate" and have been the "key protection object" of the whole family since birth. According to the survey, more than 80% families think that babies are fragile and should be taken care of like patients.

Babies are not patients. They have all kinds of abilities since childhood. They were born with 72 potentials. They have amazing adaptability. Children's resistance is not as bad as their parents think, and they have a strong desire to show their abilities. Babies' requirements for the environment are not single. In addition to taking care of them, they also need to exercise, communicate and even "take risks" to tap their potential in the body. If we only treat them as patients, their potential will disappear one by one.

Myth 2 regards education as a preparation for the exam.

An expert survey shows that more than 90% families compare education with learning. Parents believe that academic performance is the result of education. As a result, children start reading within one year old and learning foreign languages within three years old. More than 85% of children between the ages of three and six attend various training courses, no matter what class they attend, the purpose is to "get grades".

Education and learning are not the same thing. Education is the cultivation of ability, not achievement. Education includes many contents, such as healthy psychology, happy mood, cooperative spirit, way of thinking, practical ability, language expression and so on. It can't be measured by grades. Education is to make children form good habits, not to force them to master a special skill.

Myth 3: Set the goal too high.

In the survey, experts found that in the hearts of parents, they all designed a bright future for their children: I hope that the children will be students in Tsinghua; I hope my children will become Olympic champions; I want my children to be Chopin of China ... so parents are convinced that they can't let their children lose at the starting line, otherwise there will be no "great promise" anymore.

There is more than one starting line in life, and life has different starting points at any time. Children should prepare the skills needed for each trip to achieve a short-term goal. This goal is visible, you can touch it with a jump, not a goal you can't understand or see at all.

Myth 4: I always hope that children are "prodigies"

According to the survey, only 30% parents want their children to develop normally, and most parents want their children to be "outstanding", preferably child prodigies. In fact, the proportion of children with abnormal intelligence is very small, and more than 90% of children are normal children. If parents insist on setting an extraordinary standard for normal children, the result can only be tantamount to pulling out the seedlings.

In fact, there are more than four misunderstandings in early education, but these four misunderstandings are more common. For parents, children's education is the most important. As the saying goes, "caring is chaos", it is normal for some problems to appear. The key is to change your mistakes in time. Of course, the whole society should also create a good educational environment and reduce the external pressure on children, because physical and mental health is the prerequisite for children to become talents.
