Sun Tzu's Art of War (also known as Sun Wu's Art of War, Sun Tzu's Art of War, etc. ) was written by Sun Wu at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. It is a treasure in China's classical military cultural heritage, and it is also called the world's three major art books together with On War (clausewitz) and Five Wheels Book (Musashi Miyamoto). The book is profound in content and rigorous in logic, and is known as the "sacred book of military science".

Sun Tzu's Art of War embodies rich dialectical thoughts and has a far-reaching influence on military strategists, politicians and thinkers in past dynasties. It has been selected as a teaching material by military schools in many countries.

Story skills

During the Spring and Autumn Period, a man named Sun Wu, a famous military strategist, went south to the State of Wu at the invitation of his good friend Wu Zixu, the doctor of the State of Wu.

When Sun Wugang arrived in Wu, the king of Wu had already heard of Sun Wu and often asked him to explain Sun Tzu's Art of War. With the help of historical war cases, Sun Wu made a detailed analysis of the reasons for victory and defeat in the war, and the prince of Wu listened with relish. But the king of Wu is not blindly obedient. He often has disputes with Sun Wu. On one occasion, Sun Wu said: "The victory or defeat of a war depends largely on the commander's ability. An excellent commander can even turn a weak brigade into Qiang Bing;" Even a weak woman can be trained to be as brave as a soldier. The king of Wu did not believe it and asked, "How can a woman be trained as an army?" "Sun Wu said," If your majesty doesn't believe me, you can give me the palace maids for training and see the results! "The prince of Wu also wanted to see how capable Sun Wu was, so he agreed to Sun Wu's request and handed over more than one hundred maids to Sun Wu for training.

Sun Wu divided the ladies-in-waiting into two teams and made the two concubines of the prince of Wu captain. He announced the discipline to the ladies-in-waiting, and during the training period, no matter what the reason, he must absolutely obey the military orders. Those who refuse to obey military orders will engage in military law. These ladies-in-waiting are spoiled by the prince of Wu at ordinary times and turn a deaf ear to Sun Wu's words. Especially the two captains, who are trusted by the prince of Wu, don't take Sun Wu seriously at all. Sun Wu wanted them to go east, but they insisted on going west. Sun Wu was fed up and decided to behead them for disobeying orders.

When the prince of Wu heard that he was going to behead concubines, he quickly pleaded with Sun Wu. Sun Wu said, "Since your Majesty gave them to me for training, I will manage them according to the regulations of the army. Anyone who violates military orders should be punished. This is no exception. " As a result, two captains were beheaded. The other ladies-in-waiting saw that he kept his word and turned pale with fear, and no one dared to joke again when practicing.
