Nowadays, children who are learning Go are very good. I have met ten-year-old professionals, eight-year-old amateurs and six-year-old amateurs.

1\ If you study by yourself, the sooner the better.

Because go can be used as a means to develop intelligence in the early stage, it doesn't have to have a high level. The key is to cultivate interest, not to give pressure, so that children can inadvertently establish the concept of starting point, line and surface, feel the shape, exercise the flexibility of fingers, cultivate self-confidence, and let children surpass their peers in Go.

2\ If outsiders come to teach

(1) After three years old

The purpose is to build children's self-confidence. If you can persist until you are five years old, you will find that your baby is a child prodigy, and he is outstanding in Go. But there are few teachers who teach three-year-old children, and they can't teach them in class. It is more appropriate for one teacher to bring two, and the cost is higher.

(2) After four and a half years old

This is the age at which most children learn Go at present. Parents don't have to worry that their children can't sit still for one and a half to two hours at a time. Most children can do it as long as the entry method is correct. If they reach the initial level, this is not a problem. But if someone starts working for three hours, and there are more than a dozen people in a class, from my work experience, it is too difficult for teachers. In case one or two children don't pay attention, it will be even harder.

Children over the age of four and a half are very receptive, and it is possible to find a suitable teacher at the current general teaching level and go to school after reaching the primary school level.

3\ Special suggestions:

Children should not only learn Go for a few months, which means they haven't learned it yet. Children can hardly learn anything. They should study normally for more than one year before they can really play Go.
