Some parents left a message to Cino saying that they didn't know what kind of cartoons to show their children. I believe many parents have had such confusion.
Parents should know that not every cartoon is suitable for children, and every cartoon has an age suitable for children. If the choice is not good, it will only bring very bad negative effects to children. Therefore, parents should never choose cartoons for their children.
Generally speaking, there are two criteria for choosing cartoons for children: one is rhythm, and the other is plot line.
1, animation rhythm is too fast.
The fast pace of comics generally means that the style of painting changes greatly and switches quickly, which is impossible in many realities.
For example, magical things happen in a brand-new place. You fell asleep in bed, but woke up in the lake wearing a spacesuit. These magical things happen quickly one after another.
Spongebob is one of the representatives in this respect. Someone specially tested Spongebob's rhythm and found that it changed the story every 1 1 second on average.
The scientist made a test. They selected some 4-year-old children, some watched Spongebob, others watched other slow-paced science and education programs or animations, and then immediately took an attention test. The children who have seen Spongebob are obviously worse in concentration than other children.
Not only Spongebob, but also other fast-paced animations have the same problem. 20 1 1 Lillard, a professor of psychology at the university of Virginia, made a study. He selected 60 children of similar age and divided them into three groups. One group watched 9-minute fast-paced cartoons, one group watched 9-minute science and education programs, and the other group drew with crayons. Then, the executive ability of three groups of children was tested, including attention, memory and problem-solving ability.
The results show that children who watch fast-paced cartoons have only half the executive ability of other children.
The professor analyzed, "Such fast-paced cartoons will bring many new things, and children's brains will feel tired because they can't keep up with the fast-jumping rhythm, which may destroy their thinking process and thus fail to grasp the educational significance."
Especially for children under the age of five or six, their logical thinking ability has not been established. If the picture changes frequently, it is difficult for children to form memories of various scenes, leading to decreased attention and psychological mania.
2. Inappropriate plots and lines
Improper plots and lines can not only fail to educate children, but also distort their minds and thoughts. In this respect, "Bears Come and Go" is the representative, and Logger Vick's lines and actions in the film will mislead children.
So is Pleasant Goat and Big Big Big Wolf. On one occasion, parents sued the producer of Pleasant Goat and questioned whether this cartoon was really suitable for children.
"In the complete cartoon Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, Big Big Wolf was smashed by a pot for 9544 times, caught 1380 times, boiled for 839 times, and electrocuted 1755 times ..."
During the trial investigation stage, the plaintiff made the violent and dangerous scenes in episodes 1 to 170 of Pleasant Goat and Big Big Big Wolf into a 5-minute short film, which was broadcast in court, causing quite a shock.
In recent years, we can often see cases in which children are hurt by misleading cartoons:
Event 1: A 6-year-old girl in Changzhou tried to imitate Logger Vick's action of climbing a water pipe in Bears, but she didn't hold on tightly and accidentally fell from the fifth floor.
Event 2: 10-year-old girl imitates Logger Vick, pulls out a chainsaw from somewhere and saws her sister's face like Logger Vick.
Event 3: Two boys imitate the plot of roast mutton by Big Big Wolf in the cartoon. They were tied to a tree and set on fire by a 9-year-old boy from the same village, and their whole bodies were severely burned.
Event 4: The 7-year-old boy imitates "Logger Vick" to transform the fan, and uses tools to remove the cover of the electric fan at home. Unexpectedly, his whole hand was twisted into the high-speed rotating fan blade.

3. How to check whether cartoons are suitable for age?
Every cartoon has a suitable age stage, and many popular cartoons are not suitable for children of every age. For example, cats and mice are not suitable for children under 5 years old, while robot cats are over 7 years old.
If you want to know whether an animated cartoon is suitable for children's age, searching here is the most convenient choice.
The usage method is as follows:
1. Log in to monsensemedia.org/..
2. Enter the English name of the cartoon in the search box in the upper right corner of the page.
3. In the results, the age column indicates the age requirement, and the star level indicates the recommended index.
4. What cartoons are worth watching?
According to the score of commonsensemedia, I recommend some cartoons suitable for children of all ages.
Over 2 years old
Sesame Street (Sesame Street)
Recommended index: five stars
This animation uses puppets, animations and live-action performances to teach children basic knowledge such as reading, arithmetic, color names, letters and numbers, and sometimes some basic knowledge of life. It is the favorite animation of early childhood education for millions of children and parents all over the world.
Over 3 years old
Dora the Explorer (Dora the Explorer)
Recommended index: four stars
This cartoon is characterized by the slow pace and rhythm of English, which is very suitable for children with English enlightenment. In this process, Dora will also ask questions to the children and leave enough time to interact with them. Go and see it quickly!
Little Sister Pink Pig (Pink Pig)
Recommended index: five stars
Present the simplest life scene, but it is rich and interesting, full of positive energy, and it is also a great English enlightenment learning resource. The painting style is fresh and the colors are saturated and bright. Every episode basically ends with the people present laughing their heads off. An episode of 5 minutes makes it easy to control the time children spend watching the screen.
Justin Time (Justin's Time Journey)
Recommended index: four stars
This is a Canadian TV animation for preschool children, telling the adventure story of Justin, a 6-year-old boy. I believe children can learn a lot from Justin. He is curious, imaginative and optimistic.
Over 5 years old
Cartoons at this age are very interesting. Some classics, such as Tom and Jerry (cat and mouse), Mickey Mouse (Mickey Mouse) and Magic School Bus (Magic School Bus), all have a recommendation index of only 3 stars.
The most recommended cartoon in this age group is undoubtedly the following classic cartoon.
Freeze (freeze)
Recommended index: five stars
Over 8 years old
Famous cartoons of this age group include Star Wars and Robot Cat, but the former has only two stars and the latter has only three stars. The following one is highly recommended ~
Zootopia (zootopia)
