Dongguan language

Dongguan dialect belongs to Cantonese Wanbao film, with Guancheng dialect as the standard. Dongguan dialect is also one of the representative dialects of Wanbao Cantonese. There is little difference in vocabulary between Dongguan dialect and Guangzhou dialect, but there are differences in vowel pronunciation and there are rules to follow. Many people in Guangzhou can't understand Dongguan dialect, and it's hard for the elderly in Dongguan who seldom contact Cantonese to communicate with them. ?

Guancheng dialect is mainly used in urban areas and surrounding towns, such as Gaochun, Chashan, Daojiao and Hongmei. There are slightly different degrees of dialect differences, but it does not hinder mutual communication.
