How to enlighten children's English? Six-step pro-test is effective (with reading recommendation)
When do children learn English? How to learn? What should be paid attention to at each stage? All the questions are known, but the answers are always unclear. I hope my child can speak fluent English as soon as possible, and then smile at her with his adoring expression! Attached to prove my contribution to children's education as a stay-at-home mother, tut tut. ........

First of all, before learning English, we should be clear: Why should we study? What is the most important thing for children to learn English? With these two points, you will clear the obstacles for future study and make clear your plan (I will write later).

This time Kama will outline how my boss learns English from six aspects: nursery rhymes, animation, picture books, natural spelling, reading comprehension training and writing enlightenment.

English enlightenment nursery rhymes

When I was pregnant, I already picked out the English nursery rhymes I wanted to listen to her later. When I was 4-5 months old, I began to listen to a lot of English nursery rhymes for her. As long as she is awake, she can play them at any time. By the time she was almost one year old, she could already vaguely sing some words in children's songs. Since there is no shortage of mother tongue learning environment, I might as well listen to English nursery rhymes, so I didn't listen to Chinese nursery rhymes for her before I was one year old. Children's songs are a good way to learn language enlightenment. Babies' babbling with nursery rhymes can stimulate their mouths and tongues at an early stage, so that they can adapt to English pronunciation.

Here are some good English nursery rhymes:

A famous little singer?

It is a set of classic English nursery rhymes from the United States, a classic English listening enlightenment textbook, and is known as the first brand of English nursery rhymes in Europe and America. Strong sense of rhythm, children's songs are tender, lovely and interesting, and children can easily keep up with the rhythm.

Susie Tallman's album of children's songs is also one of my own favorites. What is rare is that she rearranged all the children's songs, which are lively and fashionable, and even adults like them. Since it is to accompany children, it is also important for adults to like it!

Secondly, my first book Mother Goose, a collection of English folk nursery rhymes. The first book was published at 179 1 year, which is called "the earliest collection of children's songs in the world".

TPR total body response (total body response)

It advocates linking language with behavior and teaching foreign languages through body movements. Specifically, it is "nouns look at pictures and verbs act". When teaching nouns, point to the real thing and speak English. When teaching verbs, parents say that parents do actions, then parents speak English, children do actions, and finally children speak English and parents do actions. For example:

Stand up? Stand up or sit down? Sit down and turn left? Turn left, turn right? turn right

Take off your shoes? Take off your shoes and put on your coat? Put on your coat.

Wash your face? Wash your face and brush your teeth? Brush your teeth/teeth

This kind of exercise can start from about one year old. When ta discovers that these sentences are related to daily life, it will stimulate ta's interest in repeated exploration. Because it is different from the mother tongue, speaking a specific language on a specific occasion, coupled with the guidance of parents, can make children remember it vividly, which is also confirmed in Our Family Bauer.

Children's animation

A language needs a lot of input. If you can't make English for your child, do it yourself! ? Change the TV you watch every day to English children's programs. Don't worry about children resisting. That's because the program you are looking for is not attractive enough. Children's vision is more than hearing. If the picture can attract ta, you will find that ta doesn't care so much about which language he speaks, but guesses the meaning through the combination of body and a series of scenes.

The first cartoon I chose for my daughter was Frozen, because it was so popular at that time, and because I just wanted her to get familiar with watching English cartoons, I don't think she could learn anything from it. But coincidentally, when she was one year old and four months old (we watched TV earlier, so we don't need to refer to her age), she could sing many lyrics of the song "Love is an Open Door" along with her. You know, at that time, she couldn't even speak a few complete mother tongues, which may also be the advantage of song rhythm. After that, I found some Disney children's programs, which are all suitable for children. It is not recommended because it is too difficult to collect and fragment. I have to say that the interest and habit of watching English TV programs were slowly cultivated at that time.

Privately, I also recommended some English children's programs that I chose for some friends. Because of the large amount of information, I think I must write a separate article. Give me some time, I need to tidy up, so you can't rush me.

Picture book reading

With the first two reserves, picture book reading can start naturally or at the same time as TPR. Compared with the first two methods, I think picture book reading is a milestone, which is of great help to children in the next stage (natural spelling and high-frequency words). Although picture books are not as systematic as graded reading books, with frequently repeated words and scientific design, which conform to the laws of memory, excellent picture books can teach children some common sense and laws of life, and the effect is better than that of parents' earnest preaching 10 times or more.

Recommend some self-use picture books and picture books with good reputation:

Without David, the sentence is simple and the picture is vivid and humorous. I still remember the funny look when my child was 3 years old and could read this book by himself.

Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see? This is a very classic introductory book with a strong sense of rhythm and repeatability. If parents are afraid of not understanding the sense of humor, they can play audio for their children or ask me for an electronic version.

"Jumping" is short and repeated, and children can imitate it, jumping, jumping …

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a very popular Chinese and English version, is more suitable for parents to read to their children in quiet time. If you don't understand, don't worry, I will share the electronic version or audio of these excellent picture books at the end, so you don't even have to buy books.

There are many excellent picture books I want to share with you. They are really as precious and rare as treasures. If there is an opportunity, I will talk about them later.

Natural spelling+high frequency words?

Generally speaking, natural spelling is "dictation and reading", which is a bridge between listening, speaking and reading.

When we were young, we remembered words by breaking them down into letters and remembering the order of the letters. This memory method is out of touch with the pronunciation of words, objects and actions, and its efficiency is very low.

The natural spelling method classifies complex pronunciations into regular and simple pronunciations, and links English letters with pronunciations, and then with objects or actions corresponding to pronunciations, thus improving memory efficiency.

About 80% of English words conform to the pronunciation rules of natural spelling. As long as you keep practicing, you can do "dictation, reading and reading"

Visual words are words that do not conform to the natural spelling rules. As the name implies, they are words that can react immediately when they enter the field of vision. These words account for 50% of reading vocabulary, so Chinese is translated into "high-frequency words". The most common visual word is 220.

Therefore, as long as the natural spelling and high-frequency words are combined, the reading speed and fluency can be greatly improved, which is helpful to understand the content of the article.

Sally's flash cards of high-frequency words can be bought by herself, which can deepen children's impression of high-frequency words, but I recently found something more suitable for children to remember high-frequency words, which is more interesting and I think I like it myself. Let's share it after I personally test the children! Don't worry, don't rush me! It's no use rushing, tut tut!

Horizontal reading

The grading system of English reading in Britain and America is quite perfect, and the graded reading materials are very rich. For the first time, you can choose one of them to start. Personally recommend Hyman as the beginning (there is a separate resource post in the later period), which is still a reason-sentence repetition, children can imitate and deepen their understanding, but the disadvantage is that it is boring. Older children with a good foundation can choose two or three sets. The first set is the Oxford Reading Tree. Since my daughter started reading this set of books, this family seems to have become her familiar friends. Occasionally, the nonsense humor in the book makes her want to discuss it for a long time, and occasionally secretly turn to the back to see what's wrong with this family. Of course, RAZ (post-resource post) is essential, and knowledge can be used as a kind of transmission to get more when children are studying.

The most common graded reading materials are:

ORT (Oxford Reading Tree "Oxford Reading Tree")

Heineman? Hyman series

Read A-Z (RAZ)?

Peisheng children's English

Step into reading (produced by Random House)

Reading comprehension exercise

It is natural to enrich the "sense of language", enlarge vocabulary and improve English comprehension and expression ability by reading a lot in the early stage, and then start reading comprehension. You won't see the child's anxiety, and you won't see your roar. Through reading comprehension exercises, children's reasoning and judgment ability and inductive and summary ability can be exercised.

For this kind of exercises, it is good to choose according to the child's current English level. Now the two reading comprehension exercises that my daughter is using are both very good, practicing at different levels and gradually improving her level. At present, her correct rate can reach over 90%. I won't accompany her when she does the problem, but I will let her check it when she finishes it independently. During the inspection, I found that she didn't know some words, but she could still do them correctly. Maybe she doesn't even know. She has mastered the reading skills of skimming and searching. She won't spend too much time on new words and difficult sentences. She can read in groups according to the meaning, or prepare for large-scale reading in the future, without being clear at a glance.

Speaking of this, it suddenly feels like she is a junior high school student, but she is not yet 6 years old. I will focus on reading comprehension later, and continue to dig up useful things and share them one by one.

Writing enlightenment

To tell the truth, I have no right to speak in this part, because we are just about to start, so I still need some time to objectively judge whether the writing material in my hand is good or bad.

If your children also have the ability to listen, speak and read, then writing needs to be put on the agenda. First train children to judge the logical relationship of stories, describe the correct sentences according to the pictures, and then connect the stories together. You can also guide your child to make a different sentence every day and practice it every day as a preparation for writing. Wait for my follow-up writing learning experience and information sharing!

Language learning lies in accumulation, and it is impossible to succeed at any time. Sooner or later, your accumulation will become the dust of others.
