Zhumadian Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time higher vocational and technical college approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of vocational education colleges in Henan Province. In 2009, Zhumadian Education College, Zhumadian Radio and TV University, Zhumadian Culture and Art School, Runan Garden School, Zhumadian Finance and Taxation Workers Secondary Professional School and Zhumadian Electronic Information Engineering School merged to form Zhumadian Vocational and Technical College.

The school has 32 laboratories and 65 laboratory sub-rooms, including 2 key laboratories supported by the central government, with a total value of instruments and equipment of nearly 70 million yuan. The school adheres to the integration of production and education and the steady progress of school-enterprise cooperation, and has built more than 30 internship and training bases inside and outside the school. Signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 20 units including Pingyu County Government, Taiwan Province Capital University, Shi Jing Early Education, UFIDA (New Road) Group and BAIC. It is a national professional skill appraisal unit, a continuing education base for professional and technical personnel in Zhumadian, and a national skill revitalization project training base in Zhumadian.
