At the beginning of July, I brought back seventeen cocoons from Jianqiao Township, which were yellow Taikang silkworms. That night, one came out of the cocoon and found that it was a male moth with a thin body and wet and wrinkled wings. They mate after spreading their wings at once, but what if there is no female moth? Quickly put the male moth into a paper box, and then wrap a layer of newspaper in the refrigerator to let it hibernate, otherwise the male moth will spread its wings and beat it regardless of mating or not, and it is easy to die after exhaustion. After each mating, the male moths should hibernate in the refrigerator (5℃ in the freezer). A male moth can mate three times.

The female moth has a big round belly. When a pupa turns into a moth in a cocoon, there are eggs in its belly. After breaking the cocoon, they mate, then lay eggs while walking, about 200~300, and then the female moth dies in a week or so. Eggs turn pale yellow into purple black, and hatch into ants and silkworms after 12 days!

The male moth died after the birth of the ant silkworm, and the life span of the male moth was about fourteen days. The male cocoon is smaller and the female cocoon is larger. The cocoon of Taikang silkworm is thinner and softer than ordinary silkworm, and the female moth can only lay eggs once.

On July 2 1 day, the egg gave birth to an ant silkworm as thin as hair, a one-year-old silkworm, about 0.3 cm long, with a dark brown body.

I raised 1 16 silkworms this time. Soak the collected mulberry leaves in water for about one minute, then fold the leaves, put them in plastic bags and put them in the refrigerator to keep them fresh and moist, let the silkworms eat them slowly, and then feed them twice a day. Use a watercolor pen when cleaning mulberry leaves, so as not to hurt ants. Silkworm excrement is like fine sand, so it is called silkworm excrement.

After about seven days, it will hold its head high and not get sick, but the silkworm will sleep before molting, and after molting the first layer of clothes, it is the second-instar silkworm, white and about 0.7 cm long.

Because of the rich mulberry leaves, the body of the third instar silkworm grows up gradually after five days, and its food intake increases. The mulberry leaves needed for three meals a day are also 1.6 cm long, and the stool is already small granules.

Because there are many silkworms, eating mulberry leaves in the dead of night has the sound of exams. The newly molted silkworm feels wet and tender. Four-year-old silkworms are 3.8 cm long, and mulberry leaves eat four to five meals a day, which is as scary as locusts crossing the border.

In 20 days, it has grown into a five-year-old silkworm, 6 cm long, and began to eat nothing. Silkworms only pee once in their lives, and only after the fifth instar. Their bodies will become darker, a little yellow-brown and transparent, and their skin will be tight. They may start spinning cocoons and like to cocoon in the corner, so it takes two days to prepare a box.

Son, I tell you, according to the experience of sericulture, it is called "spring silkworm", but the weather is hot and cold in spring, which is not suitable for sericulture, and it is easy to get sick and the survival rate is very low. On the contrary, the weather in May is great, which is more suitable for sericulture. Try it, you must be the winner!

Silkworm life

Today, the science teacher gave about 30 second-year-old silkworms to everyone in our class, saying that they would return to domestic silkworm babies. My classmates and I are really excited! Although silkworms have been raised before, there are still many questions about the growth of silkworms, such as why silkworms cocoon? How many times does a silkworm sleep in its life? With many questions, I began to raise silkworms.

First, pick mulberry and feed it to silkworm.

When I came home with silkworms, my mother and I went to pick mulberry leaves. After walking a lot, I finally found a small mulberry tree by a small river and picked a handful of mulberry leaves. When I came back, my mother said to herself, "Strange, there used to be a big one, but now I don't know who cut it down. Where shall I pick it up tomorrow? " . As soon as I heard it, I was anxious: "Isn't that silkworm baby hungry?" Mom sees that I care so much about silkworm babies, so let me ask grandpa to pick them in the wild tomorrow morning. The next morning, I was still sleeping, and grandpa had sent mulberry leaves.

Dad picked some small and tender mulberry leaves from his bag for me. I asked my father why he chose some small mulberry leaves to feed the silkworm babies. Dad said: "Because the silkworm baby is still young and has a limited range of activities, it is easy to find the edge of the leaves and it is more convenient to eat."

Grandpa sends me some mulberry leaves every few days, and my mother's aunt also sends me some from time to time.

Second, the growth of silkworm.

After feeding for a period of time, the silkworm baby gradually grew up. Suddenly one day, I saw some silkworm babies molting, so I asked my father curiously, "Dad, why do these silkworm babies molt?" Dad asked me, "Why don't you wear the clothes you wore as a child now?" I said, "Dad, are you kidding? How to wear clothes worn as a child now? I have grown up. " "That's right. Think about it. Silkworm babies also grow up gradually. If this layer of bread outside its body does not fall off, how can the silkworm baby grow up? " "Oh, I see." As I answered, I carefully observed my silkworm babies: Look, these little guys are all white, with four feet under their round stomachs and brown "wrinkles" on their round heads, which look a bit clumsy.

Third, spin silk to make cocoons.

After another week or two, I found that the silkworm baby suddenly stopped eating mulberry leaves and became transparent and shiny. Dad said: "After the silkworm turns into jade, it becomes transparent, indicating that its stomach is full of some kind of liquid, and when it is spit out, it will turn into silk when it meets the air." We have to let the silkworm babies go up the mountain to make cocoons. "So, my father and I carefully picked up the silkworm babies who climbed the highest one by one and put them in plastic baskets to make cocoons.

A few days later, I thought that the silkworm babies were going to cocoon, but I was surprised to find that they were not cocoon. Mother told me that silkworm babies can only cocoon in dark places. After that, my mother found straw and said to me, "You spread the straw in the cupboard under the desk, then put all the silkworm babies on the straw, and then seal the door with old calendar paper."

After a week, I opened the calendar paper and looked, wow, so many cocoons! Some people even do it together. I thought: these two cocoons must be connected together. Maybe the two brothers are still chatting in them at the moment. In the next few weeks, these cocoons stayed in a black plastic bag and were thrown in the corner of the coffee table, and no one paid attention to it anymore.

Fourth, break through the cocoon.

Until one morning, I went to the tea table to pour water, and I overheard the voice of "I'm talking" around me. I wonder: it won't be a cockroach again, will it? Oh, my God! Hey, why haven't you moved for a long time? Could it be ... suddenly seeing the black plastic bag in the corner of the coffee table, my eyes suddenly lit up. It must be that bag, there must be ... Oh, I get it all! I can't wait to go forward and open the bag. As expected, the pupae in the cocoon turned into moths. I cried with joy: "The cocoon has become a moth! The cocoon has become a moth! "

5. Silkworm moths lay eggs

After a short rest, the silkworm moth began to look for a mate in a hurry. After the male moth handed the tail to the female moth, the female moth's abdomen began to swell slowly, while the male moth became thinner and thinner. Finally, it completed its mission, left the mother moth's tail and died leisurely. The female moth began to turn her tail sharply and lay eggs. Some eggs are yellow, some are black, and these are yellow and black.

The next morning, I came to class with these dead silkworm moths and eggs, and opened the box to show my classmates my sericulture achievements. The students said, "Our baby silkworm has also become a moth."

"Jingle bells ..." When the class started, Teacher Jiang came. After seeing our silkworm moth, she told us that a newborn would be born next year.

Sixth, new problems.

I have lived as a silkworm and witnessed its growth, but I really don't understand why silkworm moths die immediately after laying eggs.
