Interview with Yang Dan
Netease Education: According to your observation, is there a difference between early education in the United States and popular early education in China?

Yang Dan: There is a big difference. First of all, I think China's parents and grandparents have two extreme attitudes. One is Renzong, grandparents, grandparents. Because there is only one child, they love this child very much. The result of love is benevolence, and children can give whatever they like. This is not common in American and North American societies. At the other extreme, it is very strict to let children do things and study according to their parents' way of thinking. I don't think this is a lot in the west, but there are some, such as tiger mothers, but they are not a mainstream, so these two extremes are very distinctive in preschool education or preschool education in China, which is a very different place.

Netease Education: Yes, you just said these two points. Indeed, everyone around us has a deep understanding. Perhaps this is also the result of family planning now. A family has only one child, and expectations for it must be high. Yang Zong, just mentioned kissing kangaroos. I remember when we were young, we proposed to study abroad with our parents (Weibo) and (Weibo). What fields do you suggest he study abroad?

Yang Dan: Actually, the consideration of launching parent-child study abroad program is precisely because of the differences between Chinese and Western educational methods. I hope to provide parents with an opportunity to visit North America, see how teachers there educate their children, and see if parents there can get some inspiration from how to educate their children. We have done the preparatory class experiment. This summer, five families from all over the country came to our Fan Qi school summer camp for a period of time. I think it will affect these five families.

First of all, both parents find that teachers and parents respect their children very much, which may be a relatively new saying in China. What does it mean to respect children? It may not be easy to accept children as friends in China culture, because the hierarchical system in China culture has a long history, so for children, firstly, parents think that children don't know anything and need to be taught, and playing with them is very tiring, because what children play is not so advanced, but western education is not like this. Western education starts from the perspective of respecting children, and regards children as a personality from the beginning.

In respect, the first thing is to provide an environment for children. Of course, we must draw a certain boundary, let children play freely within this boundary, treat children as friends in daily communication with children, and let children communicate with themselves and their parents psychologically. I think these are still very shocking for our families who participated in the parent-child summer camp this year.

Netease Education: Let's talk about Fan Qi, a unique teaching method. I think every child is actually curious about the world and knowledge from the beginning. Maybe he will gradually lose this curiosity after being influenced by adults. On your side, how do you keep your children's desire to learn and explore?

Yang Dan: Curiosity is innate. Every baby's parents will feel very curious. When they start to walk when they are over one year old, the baby may be interested in garbage, and may be interested in things that adults can't see on the wall. I remember my daughter was very fond of unplugging when she was more than ten months old, but when she successfully plugged it in for the first time, I will never forget the expression on her face. I think there is a very big reason. Adults, or mothers, or teachers have too many restrictions on children and have not provided them with a platform to develop their curiosity. For example, children are interested in garbage. When I was lecturing, a mother asked me. She said the garbage was dirty, but the baby was particularly interested in it. I said, if I were you, I wouldn't tell the baby not to touch the garbage. I can study with my baby what is in the garbage and where the garbage comes from, so that she can realize the garbage and tell her that there will be many bacteria in the garbage, which will cause her diseases. After telling her this truth, she may not touch garbage again, but if she continues to be interested in garbage, you can find some toy garbage to teach her, instead of just telling her not to touch garbage. There are different ways.

Netease Education: Sometimes parents should think of their children from their perspective.

Yang Dan: I think parents should look at the world from their children's perspective. Children see the world is beautiful. Parents think there are many bad things in the world when they grow up. For children, these bad things have not been seen yet. The world is curious and beautiful for him. How to see the world through children's eyes is actually to give parents a perspective and let them see a better world.

Netease Education: We found that there is also a "one-stop growth plan". Did you bring it up, too

Yang Dan: "One-stop growth planning", I think the education in China has a very big weakness, that is, it is very lack of systematicness, that is, the so-called piecemeal. We often evaluate children and give them some toys, so that when they play with toys, they can see that children from China often lack systematicness. If he has a problem, he will focus on it and want to solve it instead of looking back. Actually, let's see. There are many children in their teens and twenties. For example, if they can't get into a good university or go to America, they can only go to a very ordinary university. We should find the reason. In fact, in the final analysis, they did not form good study habits and good learning attitudes before they were five years old. The one-stop planning of the system is to start from an early age. First, help children to establish an understanding of people and things from an attitude. Intellectually, help him build logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and then do some work in these areas. Physically, we say that the body is capital. If you are in poor health, no matter how smart you are or how good your attitude is, it is still useless. Therefore, it is very important for every child to have a systematic plan in mind, intelligence and body.

Netease Education: After hearing what you said, I suddenly became enlightened. I feel that my system is strengthening. One more question. Now that I bought a kangaroo, I should say that I have entered the very fierce early education market in China. Now many parents have a strong awareness of early education, but I think early education is definitely word of mouth. How do you advise parents to choose a more reliable early education institution?

Yang Dan: When I first arrived, your Ms. Qiu told me that she knew a friend, watched early education programs all over Beijing, and finally decided to kiss a kangaroo. He said that he felt that pro-kangaroo was different from other early education programs, and I said he was right. Early education is not to make children fall happily, nor to make children spend some time reciting a few English words, nor is it to make children fall when they move their arms and legs. Enlightenment education must be systematic and professional. How to drive the brain through the senses from the perspective of brain structure and based on brain science? The so-called brain, like a microprocessor, has input and output, and output is everyone's behavior. Input is to transmit information to the brain after contact with the outside world through the senses. These input parts are what we call senses and five senses. How to build a brain through sensory drive must be a professional system.

Netease Education: Having said that, I think your participation should also help the development of kissing kangaroos.

Yang Dan: Our role in purchasing kangaroo from Fan Qi education, or the purpose we want to achieve, is to prolong this age, because from the perspective of developing science, 0 to 8 years old belongs to the enlightenment stage, and the enlightenment stage is the time for brain construction. At the age of five, 80% of the brain develops, and the remaining 20% is after the age of five, that is, before the age of five, scientists call it "the window of opportunity". From now on, the kangaroo-friendly brain is developed. What to do after the age of 3? So on the basis of making up lessons in the brain, from the perspective of children's rich understanding of things, we started a nursing class, brought back the courses developed abroad, and began to help children build up their understanding of people and things from the aspects of behavior and behavior. We also brought Fan Qi education, and the next step will be Fan Qi robot and Fan Qi animation. These courses.
