Preschool education major is a new major approved by Shandong Provincial Department of Education in 200 1, and our college was the only major that enrolled students that year. At present, there are nearly 2,500 students majoring in three-year preschool education, and there are more than 150 full-time and part-time teachers outside the school. Cao Qun, an academician of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and Ju Ping, a famous host of CCTV, are distinguished professor of our college. Over the past few years, we have been adhering to the school-running philosophy of "cultivating love to light up wisdom and casting ability to achieve the future" and promoting the development of professional construction with connotation construction. In 2007, preschool education major was selected as the special guest major of the talk show "Preschool Education Major in Higher Vocational Colleges" by China Education Television.

The building area of the training center is nearly 6,000 square meters, including 180 piano training room, 3 electric piano classrooms, 3 dance classrooms and 2 microteaches, as well as 1 Orff classroom, manual exhibition room, multimedia skills classroom, electric piano classroom, children's health care room, Montessori classroom, children's game room and multi-function hall. The total investment of equipment is more than 6 million yuan. Two affiliated kindergartens have been built. Using the perfect training conditions, our college has successively undertaken the "Weifang Kindergarten Teachers' Professional Education Skills Competition" and the "First Shandong Preschool Education Professional Skills Competition". Students majoring in preschool education in our college participated in provincial and above competitions and won 2 grand prizes, 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes and 3 rd prizes 16.

Preschool education is a provincial major. Six provincial "excellent courses" and two provincial "characteristic courses" have been built. The research results of provincial education reform projects undertaken have reached the leading level in China. Two achievements won the provincial teaching achievement award, and 1 achievement won the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" Shandong Local Education Innovation Achievement Award. Six kinds of textbooks won the provincial excellent textbook award. The teaching team was rated as "provincial teaching team".

In recent years, students majoring in preschool education have achieved good results: the admission rate has reached 75%. High-quality employment of graduates, in addition to being employed by well-known preschool institutions such as Beijing Normal University Experimental Kindergarten, Shenzhen Jingjing Education Institution and Southern Beibei Preschool Education Group, many graduates have been admitted to in-service public kindergarten teachers.
