The third district of Ningbo is Haishu District, jiangdong district and Jiangbei District, among which Haishu is the most developed, and the famous Tianyi Square is located in Haishu District, followed by Jiangdong and Jiangbei. Tianyi Square is located on the south side of Zhongshan Road, a bustling commercial street in the city center, covering an area of 200,000 square meters. The downtown area of Ningbo is located in the center of Ningbo, mainly including Tianyi Square, Gulou Business Circle and He Yi Road Business Circle. Among them, Tianyi Square is one of the most prosperous commercial centers in Ningbo, with many shopping centers, department stores and brand stores.
Gulou business circle is famous for its antique architectural style and various snacks and delicacies; Heyi Road Business Circle is a comprehensive block integrating fashion trends, culture and art.
The historical evolution of Ningbo;
As early as more than 7,000 years ago, Ningbo ancestors flourished here and created a splendid Hemudu culture. It was called "Yin" more than two thousand years ago, and it was Yueguo in the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to three counties in Huiji County, namely Yin (now Baidu Village, Xiwu Street, Fenghua District), Shan (now Tongao Village, Wuxiang Town, Yinzhou District) and Wangjiaba Village, Cicheng Town, Jiangbei District).
The Tang Dynasty was called "Mingzhou". In the 26th year of Tang Kaiyuan (738), Mingzhou was established, governing four counties: Zhizhi, Cixi, Fenghua and Wengshan. In the first year of Changqing (82 1), the county moved to Sanjiangkou (now Haishu District) and built Zicheng, which laid the foundation for the city's development for more than 1000 years.
In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (589), it was said that the county ruled Xiaoxi (now Yinjiang Town, Haishu District). In the fourth year of Tang Wude (62 1), Sanjiangkou was founded. Wude eight years (625), renamed Qixian. In the 26th year of Kaiyuan (738), Mingzhou was established, which governed five counties, namely Cixi, Fenghua, Zhenhai, Dinghai and Xiangshan, and Yinxian was a state-governed county, belonging to Dongdao, Zhejiang. The first year of Changqing (82 1).
The state moved from Xiaoxi to Sanjiangkou and built Zicheng, which laid the foundation for the development of Ningbo City 1000 years. According to records, the earliest city wall in the center of Ningbo was built by Liu Laozhi in the fourth year of Long 'an in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (400 years), and it was called Xiaoqiang. The former site is said to be in the area of Xiaoqiang Lane at the present west gate.
