Proposing the extended data of six major plates

During the period of 1968, French scholar Ie pichon divided the global plates into six major plates: America, Pacific Ocean, Europe and Asia, Africa, Indo-Australia (referred to as Indo-Australia Plate) and Antarctica.

The area of each plate is greater than 1x 107km2. Except for the Pacific plate, which is mostly composed of oceanic crust, the other five plates are composed of oceanic crust lithosphere and continental crust lithosphere. Scholars have divided several subplates and subplates from America and Eurasia according to the concentrated distribution zone of the epicenter. The American plate is divided into five sub-plates: South America, North America, Caribbean, Cox and Nazca.

From the Eurasian plate, Arabia and the Philippines are divided into two sub-plates, which is called the popular global plate division scheme.
