Notebook graphics card and memory
Want to upgrade your graphics card and memory:

For graphics cards,

Usually, to upgrade the graphics card of a notebook, the following conditions must be met:

The graphics card is a notebook computer with MXM (Mobile PCI EXpress Module) architecture.

MXM is a standard put forward by NVIDIA in 2004 to integrate the mobile graphics card market. Its original intention is to help major notebook manufacturers upgrade their configuration under the existing mold. For consumers, MXM means that they can upgrade their graphics cards. At first, only NVIDIA adopted the MXM standard graphics card, but ATI followed closely, giving consumers more choices when upgrading their graphics cards. Unfortunately, many notebook manufacturers have not adopted this standard until now due to various factors.

There are three standard MXM cards: I, II and III. (There is HE, but there is almost no HE card in the mobile graphics card of games on the market, so it is ignored. ) Graphics cards of the same standard can be interchanged. However, with the development of technology, MXM cards of different standards can be replaced with each other. Please note that the graphics card with standard one can only match the model with standard one; System 2 is backward compatible with system 1, system 3 is compatible with system 1 and system 2, and it is compatible with all systems. Therefore, if the machine is compatible with MXM III, it means that all mobile graphics cards (except SLI dual graphics cards) and some ATI graphics cards (such as X 1800) produced in NVIDIA can be replaced.

In my personal impression, Lenovo's notebook does not (support) use MXM's mobile graphics card. . . I'm afraid I will be disappointed.

For memory,

Maximum supported memory of notebook computer: refers to the maximum supported memory capacity of this tablet computer, which is closely related to the model of motherboard and chipset. It should also be noted that the average notebook has only two memory slots, one of which has been randomly occupied.

The maximum memory capacity supported by Y470 is 8G, and the model is DDR3.

At present, there is a 4G DDR3 memory and two memory slots on the motherboard of the machine, so a 4G DDR3 memory can be added to improve the running performance of the machine.
