Information architecture

Information architecture connects people with content in the most familiar way. It creates hierarchical content on the page and uses different elements (such as navigation) to add structure. It takes different types of information as context and organizes the content in the simplest way.

Interactive design

Interaction design deals with specific interactions between users and screens. Visual design responds to users' goals and conveys brands by using graphics, images, fonts, colors, icons, etc.

Interaction design also uses prototypes to define specific behaviors and functions of different components. For example; In the design of mobile application, is the login page easy to come in, fade in or slide to the right? This transition should be discussed in the concept of interactive design, so the final product should be realized as much as possible according to the designer's intention.

Practicality determines whether the design decision of user experience designer is practical through data analysis. In any company, people with different backgrounds achieve enterprise goals or are limited by specific engineering technology. The role of UX designers is to meet the needs of users and communicate any setbacks or pains in the use of products in time.

These data can be obtained in various ways, from focus group surveys, from laboratory-based usability studies, from one-on-one interviews and field visits, eye tracking, card sorting, A/B testing, remote sensing measurement and so on.

Practical testing helps to understand product space and define user behavior and requirements. In the long run, this is the best practical method to verify whether the ever-changing products meet the needs of users by assuming real users.

prototype

A prototype can be defined as a preliminary version. As a designer, prototype provides a cheap and flexible way to test whether it is suitable for a certain purpose, whether it is a mobile application, a physical product or a website. It also provides a method for usability research.

Prototype design is helpful for users to experience the designer's understanding of the design function, and it is convenient to change the function at will according to the requirements. This is a way to set priorities, test options, and then find out the limitations and conflicts in implementation.

Prototype design is very important, which can be closer to the final function of the product before investing time, resources and funds in development.

Visual design

Visual design is to improve the user's experience by using products in the visual aspect. Although visual design is not the whole design, it is a key part of a mature product. It conveys information about the company's brand and has an impact on the attractiveness of products.

Visual design divides people into different views, because sometimes designers emphasize aesthetics at the expense of practicality. Great visual design can even make us ignore practical problems. However, the new research results show that aesthetics and practicality can be regarded as interrelated.

Visual design tells us how the product works through color, visual level and typesetting, so it is a key part of the whole user experience.
