What is the construction history of Suzhou saionji?
Saionji, located outside Xilongmen, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is the collective name and common name of Hokkeji and Fahua Garden in Zhuang Jie. It was built in the first year of Yuan Dynasty (1335 ~ 1340) and was originally named Guiyuan Temple. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522 ~ 1566), the servant Xu Taishi built the East Garden (now staying in the Garden) and changed Guiyuan Temple into a villa and garden, that is, the West Garden. Later, his son turned the house into a temple. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was renamed Hokkeji, Zhuang Jie, because it promoted the practice. Most of the buildings and Buddha statues in temples today belong to the Qing Dynasty. Hokkeji in Zhuang Jie includes the King of Heaven Hall, Mahayana Mahayana Hall, Five Hundred Arhats Hall, Guanyin Hall and the Buddhist Scripture Building. The temple is magnificent, and there are many ancient trees in it. The environment is solemn and quiet.
