Hangzhou is called Hangzhou for short. Hangzhou was called "Lin 'an" and "Qiantang" in ancient times. Located on the southeast coast of China, in the north of Zhejiang Province, on the north bank of the downstream of Qiantang River and at the southern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is the capital of Zhejiang Province and the political, economic, cultural, financial and transportation center of Zhejiang Province.

1. Hangzhou is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital city, sub-provincial city and megacity under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province, the core city of Hangzhou metropolitan area, the economic, cultural, scientific and educational center of Zhejiang Province approved by the State Council, and one of the central cities in the Yangtze River Delta. 2. Hangzhou is located in the east of China, in the north of Zhejiang Province, in the lower reaches of Qiantang River, between 2911'and 30 34' north latitude and118 20'120 37' east longitude. Hangzhou is the central city of G60 Science and Technology Corridor approved by Zhejiang Provincial Government and the core city of Greater Bay Area around Hangzhou Bay.

3. Hangzhou is the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, the birthplace of the Li family, a famous scholar in Hangzhou, and is known as the "Southeast Famous County". The excavation of the site across the lake bridge shows that humans lived here more than 8000 years ago. Liangzhu culture more than 5,000 years ago is called "the dawn of Chinese civilization". Hangzhou has a history of more than 2200 years since the establishment of the county government in Qin Dynasty. The capital of Hangzhou in the Five Dynasties and the Southern Song Dynasty was Wu Yueguo.

4. There are many cultural relics in Hangzhou, and there are a large number of natural and cultural landscape relics in and around the West Lake, including West Lake culture, Liangzhu culture, silk culture and tea culture. Because of its beautiful scenery, it is known as "paradise on earth".
