Overview of Huai 'an Museum
Huaian Museum, founded in 1959, is a local comprehensive museum. The current museum site is located atNo. 146- 1 Jiankang West Road, Huai 'an City (west of the municipal government). The main building is a magnificent building with classical charm and flavor of the times. It is an important window for Huai 'an to display the image of spiritual civilization and highlight the characteristics of historical and cultural cities. The first phase of the project covers an area of 7 mu with a total construction area of 5,000 square meters. The new museum was completed in June and opened to the public 1997. In 2004, the municipal party committee and the municipal government decided to rebuild and expand the Huai 'an Museum, covering an area of 5 mu and a construction area of 7,000 square meters. After reconstruction and expansion, it covers an area of 13 mu, with a total construction area of 12000 square meters. It is the center of cultural relics collection, exhibition and archaeological research in this city. The new museum of Huai 'an City is based on the large-scale exhibition of "National Historical and Cultural City-Huai 'an", which is divided into seven units: the beginning of humanity, the charm of Chu and Han, the lock key of north and south, the key of water transport hub, the key of salt exchange, the key of river affairs and the emergence of heroes, highlighting the local cultural heritage; There are four special exhibition halls on the third and fourth floors, namely Xie Bingyan Calligraphy Art Museum, Xie Tieli Film Art Museum, Xu Bopu's donation exhibition hall and Cao Zifang's donation exhibition hall. The first and second floors are equipped with multi-functional halls and temporary exhibition halls with advanced facilities. Academic exchanges and inter-library exchanges are held irregularly, and various academic conferences and temporary exhibitions with different types and themes are undertaken.
