The library of Beijing Normal University is the first batch of "national key protection units of ancient books", with a collection of more than 400,000 ancient books, of which 130 ancient books have been selected into the national precious ancient books list. Ancient steles in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, fine engravings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, handwritten manuscripts of famous manuscripts, proofreading and pasting, etc. Are precious.

The first is the "treasure of the town hall"-seven volumes of Paramita Sutra of Winning the King (Volume 2). This is the earliest document in this collection, which comes from the Tibetan Sutra Cave in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes and is a typical transcript written in the Tang Dynasty in the eighth century. It is more than nine meters long and complete from beginning to end. Calligraphy works and scriptures with the same name are rare in Dunhuang suicide notes. It is listed as a national first-class cultural relic with reference to the Grading Standard of Dunhuang Suicide Notes and the Grading Standard of Ancient Books promulgated by the Ministry of Culture.
In addition to the "treasure of the town hall", the museum also displays classics and selected works in the historical development order of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing. Through the dark yellow pages, it seems that you can see the scholars who silently guard these fragile papers and volumes. Because of awe and love, you can make ancient books pass through fire and disaster, and pass down to this day.
The Origin and Changes of Normal University
In the exhibition of the origin of the collection, we can see a red seal. These collected stamps printed on books record the renaming process of Beijing Normal University in different periods in history and witness the historical changes of Beijing Normal University in the past century.
Inscription by Chen Wenxian, the first inspector of Shi Jing Normal University, and the seal of Shi Jing Normal University.
Mr. Qi Gong mentioned in "Overview of the Library of Beijing Normal University" (1989) that our library "collects the books of teachers' university, old women's normal university and old auxiliary university". Among them, "teacher's university" and "old auxiliary university" refer to Beijing Normal University and Fu Jen Catholic University before the institutional adjustment of 1952 respectively. "Old Women's Normal University" was Beijing Women's Normal University in the Republic of China. The collections of these three schools are isomorphic, which forms the foundation of the collection of the library of Beijing Normal University.

At the same time, the museum also displays precious collections such as wooden movable type and iron movable type, so that every visitor can marvel at the wisdom of the ancients while understanding the history, and feel the emotional voice across the vast space and time through these displayed entities.
