The college consists of Ministry of Transport, Department of Vehicle Engineering, Marketing Department, Ministry of Traffic Safety, Transportation Research Institute (including Transportation Safety Research Institute, Transportation Planning Research Institute, Logistics Research Institute, Fast Freight and Vehicle Research Institute, Dangerous Goods Transportation Research Institute, Intelligent Transportation Research Institute, Transportation Energy Research Institute, Transportation Industry Research Institute, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Technology Research Institute, Electromechanical and Power Research Institute), Key Laboratory of Human-Vehicle-Environment System Safety of Ministry of Communications, and Shaanxi Key Laboratory of New Energy Development and Application and Automobile Energy Saving.

At present, the college has six majors: vehicle application engineering (national key discipline, doctoral program, postdoctoral mobile station and master program), vehicle engineering (doctoral program, postdoctoral mobile station and master program), traffic planning and management (doctoral program and master program), traffic environment and safety technology (doctoral program and master program), power machinery and engineering (master program) and enterprise management (master program).

The college has seven undergraduate majors, including transportation, traffic safety engineering, vehicle engineering, marketing, logistics engineering, automobile service engineering, thermal energy and power engineering.
