The Chang 'an Road Library of Shanxi Province is open 365 days a year. The opening hours are every Monday 13:00- 19:30, Tuesday-Sunday 09: 00- 19: 30, and legal holidays 09:00- 17:00. The Children's Library and the Children's Branch of Shanxi Library are open every Monday from 13: 00 to 17: 00, and from Tuesday to Sunday (legal holidays) from 09: 00 to 17: 00.

History of Shaanxi Library

Shanxi Provincial Library was established in September, 1909. Shanxi Library is the largest public library in Shaanxi Province and the earliest public library in western China. It is one of the first batch of "national key protection units of ancient books", a "national first-class library" evaluated by the people of China and the former Ministry of Culture, and a civilized unit in Shaanxi Province.

Shanxi Library was founded in August 1909, formerly known as Shaanxi Library; 1927 was renamed the First Zhongshan Library of Shaanxi Province, 193 1 year, 1953 was officially named Shanxi Library, and the new library of Shanxi Province was completed and officially opened to the public on September 30, 2006.
