Nanzenji, the main building in Wuxi, has obvious architectural features of Buddhist temples in the south of the Yangtze River in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The beam frame of the temple building is highly simplified, and the beams and columns are directly connected by tenons and mortises, without relying on pavement. The height of the bucket arches on the column accounts for a small proportion of the total elevation, but the number is dense.
The eaves are very short, and the radian of cornices is beautiful, exquisite and smart. The roof is steep and the tiles are rich in details, which is an obvious architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Later, the surrounding villagers followed suit and the meat market flourished.
