Brief introduction of China Library Association
China Library Association is a professional academic group of modern libraries in China. The inaugural meeting of 1925 was held in Shanghai on April 25th, and the inaugural ceremony was held in Beijing on June 2nd. Headquartered in Beijing. The purpose is to study library science, develop library cause and seek the help of library. In the early stage, there were a director department and an executive department. The first director department was Liang Qichao and the secretary department was Yuan Tongli. The executive director is Dai, and the vice ministers are Du Dingyou and He. 1937 the board of directors was renamed as the board of supervisors. The executive department was renamed as the board of directors, with Yuan Tongli as the chairman (1937 ~ 1944). The association has special committees on classification, cataloging, indexing, publishing, library education and library architecture. Association members include institutional members, individual members, sponsored members and honorary members.
