Xujiahui Garden Scenic Area is located in Xujiahui, the center of Shanghai urban tourism, with Wanping South Road, Tian Ping Road and Huashan Road in the east, Zhongshan South Second Road in the south, Kaixuan Road in the west and Huaihai West Road in the north. It mainly consists of three parts: historical landscape, fashionable and energetic shopping and green leisure and entertainment.
Introduction of scenic spots
Xujiahui is a bustling business district, famous for gathering department stores and digital malls, but you can also find many old buildings with special appearance in these tall buildings. For example, Xujiahui Observatory with a history of 140 years, Xujiahui Library, the earliest existing modern library in Shanghai, and the former site of the Oriental EMI Record Company, commonly known as "Little Red House". You can also go to Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall, Xujiahui Catholic Church, the largest Catholic church in Shanghai, or to Tushanwan Museum to learn about the history of Tushanwan Orphan Arts and Crafts College. These scenic spots engraved with Xujiahui's history and culture constitute the source scenic spot of Xujiahui.

Xujiahui Garden Scenic Area starts from Wanping South Road, Tian Ping Road and Huashan Road in the east, south to Zhongshan South Road, west to Kaixuan Road and north to Huaihai West Road. Xu Guangqi, a famous figure in Ming Dynasty and a pioneer of cultural exchange between China and the West, once lived here. Later, his descendants lived here, hence the name Xujiahui. Under the guidance of Xu Guangqi, Catholicism developed in Shanghai. Later, Xujiahui became a region with strong Catholic atmosphere and strong European customs. Nowadays, you can still find various religious elements with a sense of time in Xujiahui's scenic spots, such as the former site of Notre Dame de Xujiahui and Xuhui Public School founded by Catholic missionaries.
All scenic spots in Xujiahui Garden can be visited free of charge, and tickets can be collected free of charge at Xujiahui Garden Visitor Center. Xujiahui Catholic Church, Tushanwan Museum, Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall, Jiaotong University History Museum, Qian Xuesen Library and Notre Dame can all be visited, while Xuhui College, Xujiahui Library, EMI Company and other buildings can only visit the periphery of the building or only open some areas. Most of these scenic spots are concentrated near Xujiahui Catholic Church. Bicycles can be borrowed from the visitor center, so it is convenient to take turns visiting by bike.
