In 2004, Taiwan Province Literature Collection, a key publishing project of the Tenth Five-Year Plan jointly planned and published by Kyushu Press and Xiamen University Press, had a great influence on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and overseas. According to public opinion, the publication of the communique marks that the mainland has reached a brand-new level in sorting out the historical documents of Taiwan Province Province, which is of great significance for confirming the cultural origin of the two sides of the strait, curbing the "cultural Taiwan independence" and strengthening cross-strait exchanges. The National Library of China, the Library of Congress of the United States, the Harvard Yanjing Library, the National Library of Korea and other famous libraries at home and abroad have collected this book.
In the process of organizing periodical publication, we feel that there are still many important tasks to be done in the collation and publication of historical documents in Taiwan Province Province. After more than a year's investigation and demonstration, we decided to extend and refine the research work of literature and history materials in Taiwan Province Province, and organize and implement the "Taiwan Province Literature and History Materials Publishing Project" based on this magazine. This idea has been actively echoed and strongly supported by China No.1 Historical Archives, China No.2 Historical Archives, Xiamen University, Fujian Normal University and other units. In particular, it has been recognized and highly praised by the leaders of the Taiwan Affairs Office. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council not only listed it as a key publicity project for Taiwan, but also planned to report it to the Central Leading Group for Taiwan Work to apply for being listed as a national key project in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and formally included in the publicity work plan of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council. After the initial decision was made to report to the Central Committee for the establishment of a high-standard editorial and publishing committee, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council took the lead in organizing the leaders and experts of the press and publishing departments, archival and cultural institutions and related research institutions to complete this grand project.
