Now it has developed into a 3,500-square-meter library with 375,000 books and a computer management system. It was rated as a national civilized library, a reader's favorite library and a second-class library.

Since the reform and opening up, Wuhu Library has developed rapidly with the attention and care of the superior leaders. 1987, "A Ying Library Exhibition Room" and "A Ying Memorial Cornerstone" were established, and the head of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and relevant provincial and municipal leaders attended the unveiling ceremony. 1988 "Hong Rong Library Exhibition Room" and "Hong Rong Book Donation Monument" were established. 1999, "Wang Ying Information Exhibition Room" was established. The establishment of the collection of cultural celebrities not only improves the collection taste, but also forms the collection characteristics of local cultural celebrities. Known as the first gathering of celebrities in Anhui, it has also been approved by Wuhu Municipal Committee as a patriotic education base and a provincial AA-level tourist attraction, attracting many people at home and abroad to visit and pay attention.

At present, the library has a team of professional and technical personnel in high, middle and primary libraries. The number of employees with college education or above accounts for 95% of the total number of employees, of whom 75% have systematically mastered the basic knowledge of library science and information science, and 60% are initially familiar with and can use computers. It is a team with good ideas, good business and hard work style.

In recent years, Wuhu Library has continuously expanded the scope of collection construction and service projects, and achieved certain social benefits in paying attention to collection, making full use of literature information, carrying out reading activities and providing multi-level services.
