I have taught at Chung Chi College, Chinese University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, University of Hawaii, University of Wisconsin and Lingnan University in Hong Kong. He has a close relationship with Xia Zhiqing, a scholar studying in the United States, and helped him to publish the Chinese translation of A History of Modern Novels in China, and he also served as part of the translation work. He is proficient in Chinese and western literature and has written a large number of translations, especially in comparative literature and translation studies. He has been paying attention to the trends and achievements of Chinese and foreign literary circles, and every time he comments, he is quick to talk. Most of the published works are essays, with pungent and frank writing style, unique views and a sense of humor.
