Wuhan Communication College is the fourth communication university in China approved by the Ministry of Education in 2004. It is also the first batch of "transformation and development" pilot universities in Hubei Province. Now it has developed into an institution of higher learning with distinctive media culture characteristics, coordinated development of multiple disciplines and training comprehensive applied talents.

The school has two campuses, Wuhan and Dawu, with a total area of 1000 mu and a total construction area of more than 300,000 square meters. The main campus is located in the scenic Hidden Dragon Island of Wuhan Optics Valley, with Phoenix Terrace in the east and Tangxun Lake in the west. The campus is located in Dawu High-speed Railway Economic Zone in Xiaogan City and has been put into use.
