Pudong Library is located at No.88 Qiancheng Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, with a total construction area of over 60,000 square meters. It is open 365 days a year. Pudong Library has a loan department of Chinese books and periodicals, a comprehensive reading room, an electronic reading room and an information desk. The total collection of paper documents, audio-visual materials, newspapers and magazines, e-books and electronic newspapers in Pudong Library is about 3.9 million.

Brief introduction of Pudong library building

Pudong Library (New Library) is a public library in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, located at No.88 Qiancheng Road, Pudong New Area of Shanghai. The new museum is located in the north of Pudong New Area Cultural Park, adjacent to China Pudong Cadre College and Jinxiu Road Station of Metro Line 7, and in the new cultural circle of Shanghai centered on the main venue of the World Expo and Century Park.

The new building was designed by Japan Co., Ltd., and the cooperative design unit was East China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. The new building project started in September 2007 and was put into use on 20 10. The new library covers an area of about 3 hectares, with a total construction area of 60,885 square meters, a collection of about 2 million books, about 3,000 reading seats and an estimated daily reception of 6,000 readers. The new building is a pure, simple and atmospheric hexahedron, which is divided into two floors underground and six floors above ground, with a total height of 36 meters.
