Xuchang University is located in Xuchang City, the center of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. The economic strength ranks in the forefront of Henan Province, with rapid development and great potential. There are two railway stations, a high-speed railway station and eight bus stations. There is also the first off-site dock in China. Xuchang has a beautiful environment and ranks fourth among the top ten livable cities in China. Xuchang University is a key university in Henan Province, and its new campus is located in the transportation hub of Dongcheng District. The Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway Xuchang East Station and Xuchang New Center Bus Station are 500 meters to the east behind the school. There are also Min Yue Park and Xuchang Science and Technology Square. East Lake Garden is in front and College River Garden is in the west. To the east is Airport New Town.

The school has more than 64 majors with 2 1 1,000 students. The school has graduate programs and graduate degree awarding points. The library is second to none in Henan province, with complete software and hardware facilities, and is a national and provincial key specialty. The dormitory has heating, and some dormitories have air conditioning. The school is currently building a cultural exchange center (the highest building in the school, with 28 floors) and an office building (with 20 floors). A swimming pool and gymnasium will be built in the east of the school this year.

The school is actively applying for renaming, and it is likely to be renamed as Henan University of Arts and Sciences. The school has great potential.
