Isozaki's introduction and his masterpiece
Isozaki new Japanese architect

background

Isozaki 193 1 was born in Oita, Japan, and is a world-famous Japanese architect. After graduating from the Department of Architecture, School of Engineering, Tokyo University, Isozaki continued to study and work under the leadership of Kenzō Tange.

1963 founded the new design studio of Isozaki. Since then, he has become a master who has been active in the field of international architecture for decades, with numerous works and numerous awards.

design style

Isozaki Shin is quite bold in the form of design colors and styles, and his creativity and detailed design ability have become his unique design symbol. Like other Japanese architects, Isozaki's new works are deeply influenced by local culture, but they also show his keen insight and subtle sense of humor. When he tried to combine traditional beliefs with western culture, his works reached a perfect state, that is, his works adopted the design ideas of both eastern and western cultures, and expressed cultural factors as poetic metaphors, which reflected the combination of traditional culture and modern life.

Master's idea

Isozaki Shin is known as the master of metaphor. He thinks: "The meaning in architecture is not denotative, but mostly connotative. This connotation is based on hints and metaphors. Architectural language needs a connection. " There are nine common metaphors in Isozaki's new works: androgyny, letters, functional machines, Plato's three-dimensional, dim, empty, ruins, shadows and darkness. In the design of Musashi Hill Country Club, Isozaki discovered beautiful green schist from foundation excavation. He decided to combine wood and stone as meaningful symbols and the memory of the big forest into the new club to create a symbolic element with plot in the building. The obelisk is used as a metaphor for the forest that once grew on the pedestal. Sunlight diffuses through the wooden grating of the obelisk like leaves, and the four original wooden columns in the tower become symbolic symbols rather than structural components. Here, the obelisk is not only the center of spatial form, but also the result of its metaphor has produced many explanations, which enhances the connection and aesthetic feeling of architectural language.

Among the architects, some, like alvar aalto or Tadao Ando, succeeded by transcending the times and places and expressing the author's own personality or "traces of hands". Their architecture is often lost in homogeneous repetition because of the author's personality or "handwriting". On the contrary, Isozaki has been trying to eliminate his traces in his works. Recently, he often uses formal architecture, super-conceptual architecture, capital architecture and other remarks, which shows that his heart is full of the idea of trying to get rid of this kind of reality similar to "hand traces" and pursue metaphysical architecture.

design feature

Isozaki uses simple geometric models to create a clear structural system and high-level architectural technology. He often blends cubes and squares into modern fashion. His works are usually concise, rough but not arrogant, and the arched roof is the main feature of his design. He can use different structures and shapes to create a lot of space and try to make the edges look softer. When designing, Isozaki usually draws a rough figure in his mind first, and then transforms it into a fresh, colorful, pure and profound geometric model.

The new buildings designed by Isozaki have quite strong visual effects, especially the contrast and emphasis. He once said that architecture is the architectural form and structure controlled by architects. Making full use of light, pattern and space volume is one of the important reasons why people pay attention to the new building of Isozaki. His works not only have their intrinsic meaning, but also are particularly vivid and touching. The indoor space he designed is simple and clear, and the simple synthetic structure provides a more neutral synthetic space.
