Tianjin University Science and Technology Library is also called Yifu Building. The predecessor of Tianjin University Library is Beiyang University Library. In the 21st year of Guangxu reign in Qing dynasty (1895), it was founded with the school, ranking first in the national university library. In the course of more than one hundred years' development, the library of Tianjin University has gone through a difficult course. Thanks to the efforts of successive curators and librarians, a comprehensive, research-oriented, open and modern library with rich resources, service for teaching and scientific research and high-quality librarians has finally been achieved.
