Huangpu District Library is located in the north of Dashadi East Road, west of Wu Yong and south of Hulin Road. The new library was officially opened to the public on May/KOOC-0/2006, with an investment of 35.5 million yuan, covering an area of/KOOC-0/42/KOOC-0/6 square meters, a building area of/KOOC-0/2070 square meters, and an existing library of/KOOC-0/50,000 volumes, receiving 200,000 readers annually.

The design of the new museum is concise and lively, and the traditional garden atrium is green, which creates a brand-new reading environment for readers. It introduces modern library design concepts such as modularity, same column network, large format and transparency, and adopts an open and flexible new service mode integrating collection, borrowing, reading and inquiry. The library has five floors: the first floor is the reader activity area, including atrium hall, lecture hall, general service desk, catalogue retrieval area, newspaper reading area, children's reading room and guest reception room. The second floor is the e-book reading area. The third floor and the fourth floor are the book lending area, the tool library and the local literature library respectively; The fifth floor is office space such as exhibition hall and conference room. The library has designed a collection of 800,000 books, and it is estimated that more than 30,000 new books will be added every year.
